Simon Mardon has a penchance for the Classic Hits RunMahana half marathon course.
It’s certainly not flat with the undulations unforgiving but that’s the challenge of the double lap Moutere course and one that has certainly been to Mardon’s liking.
He won both in 2009 and 2010 and on Sunday he made it number three.
But it wasn’t “oneway traffic” as Graeme Taylor looked determined to relegate the younger Nelson College teacher to runner up. Both were battling it together on the first lap but just into their second circuit and it was all over for Taylor. The last year has seen him on the sidelines after suffering plantar fasciitis. Remember to keep sipping on water tonight and tomorrow morning so you are well hydrated before you start your event. Pack a sun umbrella and a picnic rug to maximise relaxation for after and remember to ENJOY!!!
We will have some spare Registration Certificates to complete at the Registration Area in the morning, however, to save time, please print out the pdf document from Pre Event Emailer #2 and have it ready to hand straight over.

If you would like to pick up your race pack before Sunday, then we are holding a pre-event pick up on Friday at Migym (entrance from Bridge Street) - next to Shoe Clinic.
This will be open from
12.30pm - 1.30pm
4.30pm - 6.00pm
You will need to download, print and complete the Registration Certificate - (the link was emailed to you in Pre Event Emailer #2 on Tuesday night) and hand this over to our Registration Crew to uplift your race pack. (If you do not have access to a printer, we will have some spares available).
Migym will have a complimentary SAUNA voucher for anyone pre-registering on Friday. Awesome!

Woollaston Estates is the December 1st destination for 800 runners, walkers or some doing a bit of both in this year’s Classic Hits RunMahana.
All will be out to finish their respective half marathon, 10km or 5km through the vines….just to be eligible to take home the wonderful Wildside Travel prize of a trip for 2 to Samoa next year and 9 days relaxing under the South Pacific sun, while those left at home taste their first chills of winter.
Organisers, Nelson Events are rapt with the response which is sure to swell with last minute entries adding valuable support for the Nelson Bays Branch of Prostate Cancer.
