April’s, Alpine Lodge Loop the Lake is oversubscribed with a waiting list now in place for the popular circuit of Lake Rotoiti in the Nelson Lakes National Park.

Two months out from the idyllic 25km trail run and all 400 places in the extended capacity have been quickly taken with over two thirds of the field travelling from outside the Nelson province to participate.

July’s Furneaux Lodge Captain Cook’s Landing is also heading towards the same sell out status as only 40 spots are left for this pristine point to point journey along the Queen Charlotte Track from historic Ship Cove to Punga Cove.

And advanced warning to trailrunners that September’s Abel Tasman...

Was it as cool as us? We did a rekkie for this year's ATCC - and headed down to the original finish line, Totaranui and through to Awaroa. Tough day at the office - as you can see. It's going to be a fantastic 20th year anniversary. Wonder who will 'bagsies' the overnight crew positions at Awaroa .....

The “master of the Maitai” Simon Mardon was back on Tuesday night showing all he’s ready for Buller on Saturday week.

Although not as quick as previous years in the 10km, the final of the Sprig n Fern Summer Series, his 34.17 was more than respectable.

David Bill has been the “speed merchant” over the shorter distance lead up 3km & 5km runs but he couldn’t handle Mardon’s strength..

Henry Wallace stuck with Bill all the way finishing two seconds behind him in 35.15.

Simon Leaning also looked strong and heads towards a good time down the Gorge….depending if the heatwave sticks around but history tells us that over the years morning mist from the river...

Wave 1 Estimate over 1hour 15 Start 6.00pm

Wave 2 Estimate 55min to 1.15 Start 6.10pm

Wave 3 Estimate under 55min Start 6.20pm

You will need to get your name recorded at the start so please check in with one of the team at Branford Park – 10min before your start time.
