Two decades of trailrunning was celebrated in style in Saturday’s 20th Anniversary Abel Tasman Coastal Classic.
The day could not have been better, capturing the complete essence and the words enscribed into the event’s banner..The Sea. The Sky, The Sand, The Run.
What started back in 1994 was to be repeated but this time in the opposite direction, Totaranui to Marahau, and with it the Awaroa Estuary crossing at the beginning, thus wet feet plus a few grains of sand to contend with as the journey progressed..
Organisers, Nelson Events, had a few anxious moments Friday night as the rain got heavier but the weather gods...
Registration
You will collect your race pack from Race Headquarters – the Marahau Outdoor Education Centre (MOEC) on event morning between 6.45am and 7.30am. The MOEC is situated on the beachfront at Marahau, next to the Motor Camp/Shop.
You must present the completed and signed Registration Certificate (pdf document download link emailed to you last night and in emailer #5) plus your photo identification (ie drivers licence) to uplift your race pack. If you don't have access to a printer, we will have some spares available at Registration.
All check in is at the Marahau Outdoor Education Centre.
