Paula Canning has confined her running races to the road up until now but her days as a ‘bitumen burner’ may be waning. Her first encounter as an off-roader was in Saturday’s Subway Dun Run which she completed with aplomb, winning the women’s section and at the same time setting a new 40-49 age group record.
Canning wasn’t the only record breaker with Marlborough’s Robbie Barnes, 1.51.03 setting a new mark for the 50-59 men to chase while Yvonne West brought the time down to 2.31.52 in the Women’s 60+.
