This event is held in the stunning surrounds of the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary.

Please note that for 2016, there will be no official 'race', instead, we are looking to a revised course in 2017 that will hold going forward.

Instead of a race format, the Nelson Events Team, along with the NBS Nelson Striders will have an anticlockwise bunch run and walk around the perimeter of the fenceline (14km) for 2016 - date tba

Also: We are keen to hear your thoughts on this event - whether to keep the Codgers/Four Corners (short course) or Codgers/Four Corners/Fringe/Third House sections (long course) before embarking within the Sanctuary, OR for us to develop a course solely within the track network inside the fence. Let us know - we've got some time to develop it. Keen to hear if you (or people you know) want 'shorter' short course options too.

Save Our Babies – Get Behind The Fence

Pests such as rats, stoats and possums are killing our baby native birds and animals, and species are going extinct. Now you can help stop this tragedy.

The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary is building a 14km pest-proof fence in Brook Valley, Nelson, which will create a 700 hectare protected nursery. When completed it will allow native birds and animals to flourish behind the fence, and spread throughout the region and back into our lives.

Get behind the fence! Sponsor one (or more) of the 7000 fence posts required to complete the project, and help save the babies!
