The Boar's Jaw is UK bound

The Boar’s Jaw is UK bound with Englishman, Greg Emans winning Nelson’s coveted sporting trophy in Sunday’s NBS Nelson Striders Half Marathon.
He was 18 seconds outside his estimate, the most in the unique event’s 23 year history of running or walking 21.1km without the aid of a timepiece.

The supporting 10km was closer with Murchison’s Janne Falkner securing the honours. She was only 3 seconds off her estimate, Matthew McMillan a tick behind and Iona Fitchett the other within 10 seconds.

Canterbury visitor, Sam Pollock began her” 12 half marathons in 12 months” campaign and she’ll be back for the Kaiteriteri Gold on March 11th with Nelson Events aiming for 500 on the startline on one of the country’s most scenic courses.
Finishing on the golden sands then dipping into the ocean post race provides the pic that all one wants for their athletic scrapbook or FaceBook page .

On the trail running scene Alpine Lodge Loop the Lake is now sold out with a Waiting List operative.
400 will circuit Lake Rotoiti in the pristine Nelson Lakes National Park on April 8.

Advanced alert also for the Captain Cook’s Landing 25km along the Queen Charlotte Track in July. Entries for this open February 4th so to secure a place it is suggested to diary a reminder date.
