Sticky Start to the Striders Summer Series
A humid evening in the Maitai Valley helped runners post some sizzling times in the first of The Frontrunner Six O'Clock Summer Series. The 3km dash from The Golf Course saw Simon Mardon take line honours in a sweltering 9.08 minutes, well clear of 2nd placed Tom Vaughan (9.35mins) and 3rd placed Rob Lieffering (9.55mins). The women's footrace however was hotly contested with Margareet Hofman narrowly holding out Jodi Stevens by a mere 2 seconds in a time of 11 minutes 50 seconds.. 3rd placed Patrizia Leonard was not far behind in 12 minutes 24.
