For the safety of all participants we do not permit you to be accompanied throughout the triathlon (adults or children) ie. no buggies, child bike seats etc. This includes vehicles, or cycles.

Wearing/using ipods, mp3 players, walkmans etc will not be allowed.

Collecting your helmet and shoes
Return to 'drop-off' area and when convenient with marshall collect your shoes and helmet. We recommend you mark your shoes, helment and bike for easy identification. You will be given a number for your helment (and bike).

Collecting your bike
Return to Domett Street and when convenient with marshall collect your bike
Please note that you will not be able to use the same pathway from the pool to the bike area as this is to be kept clear for others still completing their triathlon

Prizegiving
Prizegiving will be held at the Nelson Rugby Clubrooms. We aim to start prizegiving at 2.00pm, however, the clubrooms will be open earlier.

Remember that to claim a spot prize you must be present at prizegiving.

Nelson Insurance Brokers Generation Challenge

Fathers - encourage your sons to train and complete the event with you. Both complete the triathlon, the times are added together and the father/son pair with the lowest total time is the winner. All competitors go in the special Nelson Insurance Brokers Generation Challenge spot prize draw. Please note that you must enter the same category (either both running, or both walking)

NBS Corporate Challenge
Support a fellow workmate and enter the triathlon. Please note that you both must be from the same workplace and complete the triathlon individually. Your times are then added together and the team with the lowest total time is the winner. All entrants go in the draw for the major corporate challenge spot prize of an indoor football table for your workplace.
Please note that you must enter the same category (either both running, or both walking)

Port Nelson Partners
Encourage your partner to also train with you, you do the Bloke's Day Out and she does the Taylors Women's Tri the following weekend. By both competing you will go in the draw for a romantic weekend for two. To be your partner the rule is same house, same bed.

Treat all roads as open and expect traffic. Please obey our marshall's directions. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

Supporters
Maitai Valley Road will be closed from 9.00am to 10.30am. Absolutely no vehicles will have access to or be able to exit Maitai Valley Road during that time (excepting the triathlon lead vehicle and emergency services). We recommend supporters leave their cars in Nile Street (past Tasman St) or in Tory St to be outside the cycle course area to lessen the risk for the competitors and to avoid an inconvenience. Please note that Domett Street will also be closed.

We look forward to having you come along and sharing the day with your partner, mother, father, daughter, son, friend, however, we ask that you are considerate to all and follow the instructions of event crew who are there to make the event safe and enjoyable for all participants.

Race Day Registration
7.45am to 8.30am at Branford Park
You will have a number written on your leg and arm. To assist with identification we ask you to attempt to keep this number clearly visible at all times.

Briefing
A briefing will be conducted at 8.40am
Please attempt to have all your questions answered before briefing by phoning us or emailing us prior to event day, or asking at registration.

Start Time
9.00am
Registration and briefing is the same time for both runners and walkers (walkers may start after the runners - this will be confirmed closer to race day).

Transition
Only participants will be allowed in the transition area. This protects your bike plus all the others as well.

After completing your cycle in Domett Street you will be met by a group of 'bike catchers' who will take your bike from you while you go to the pool.

You will need to collect your own bike post race - please don't ask supporters to collect this on your behalf.

Finish
Your time stops when you complete your fourth length of the pool. After completing your swim please exit the pool as quickly as possible. As you leave the water you will be given a numbered disc. Hand this disc to the recorder who will need to see your race number as well so that we can accurately record your triathlon time (your time will be recorded on a separate computer when you finish your fourth length)
